Founded in 2012, the Caravan Kids Wrestling Club began when former Mount Carmel Head Wrestling Coach John Kading invited Freshman Coach Roberto Garay to launch a youth wrestling program. With support from Coach Sam Gutierrez, the team quickly spread the word throughout Chicago’s Southeast Side, establishing Mount Carmel High School as the proud home of the new club.
While initial growth was modest, momentum built steadily. Today, Caravan Kids Wrestling Club is recognized as a dominant force in the IKWF Central Chicago Sectional—developing young athletes and fostering a strong wrestling community.
